Kavaratti

Kavaratti is the capital and the most developed island in Lakshadweep. The beautiful and calm lagoon offers water sports, swimming and snorkeling. If you're more inclined to relax, the beach is ideal for sunbathing or just lazing around on the sand. Marine life enthusiasts can visit the marine aquarium, which has an excellent collection of aquatic specimens. The multicoloured underwater life in the lagoons can be viewed through glass-bottomed boats. Kayaks, wind surfers and sailing boats are available on hire. The Dolphin Dive Centre is an attraction for scuba divers.

The headquarter of the Administration, Kavaratti is beautiful calm lagoon and forms an ideal spot for water sports, swimming and basking on warm sandy beaches. The Ajara and Jamnath mosques (of the 52 on the island) have the best wood carving and the former has a particularly good ceiling carved out of driftwood; a well within is believed to have medicinal water. Marine life exhibits can be seen at the new marine aquarium. Kayaks and sailing yatch are available on hire and one can also enjoy viewing the exotic marine life through glass bottom boats.

Kalpeni

Kalpeni along with two small islets of Tilakkam and Pitti and the uninhabited island of Cheriyam in the north form a single atoll. A peculiar feature of Kalpeni is a huge storm bank of coral debris along its eastern and southeastern shorelines. It is believed that a violent storm in 1847 threw up huge coral boulders along these shores. You can swim, snorkel or reef-walk in the vast lagoon and enjoy water sports on kayaks, sailboats and pedal boats.
Kalpeni is known for its scenic beauty with the small islets called Tilakkam & Pitti and an uninhabited island on the north called Cheriyam. A huge shallow lagoon encloses all of them. A peculiar feature of Kalpeni atoll is the huge storm bank of coral debris along the eastern & south-eastern shoreline. It is believed that huge boulder were thrown up during a storm in 1847. One can swim, reef walk or water sports on kayaks, sail boats, pedal boats. Water sports crafts are available on hire.

Minicoy

Minicoy has one of the largest lagoons and is renowned for its traditional dance - the Lava performed on festive occasions. Colourful race boats called "Jahadhoni" are a feast to the eye of any travelist. A 300-foot tall lighthouse built by the British, in 1885 is a towering landmark. The beaches have bathing huts with changing rooms and facilities for water sports.

Minicoy is the southernmost most island in Lakshwadeep, crescent shaped & has one of the largest lagoons. The island is also very interesting because of its unique Maldivian character.

Kadmat

Kadmat is 8 km long and only 550 metres wide at its broadest point. It has a beautiful shallow lagoon to the west, which is ideal for water sports, and a narrow lagoon on the east. The long sandy beaches and sand banks on the southern tip are perfect for sun bathing. Travellers huts built amidst palm groves facing the lagoon, allow you to soak in the pristine beauty of the coral ecosystem. Kayaks, sailing boats, pedal boats, skiing boats and glass-bottomed boats are available on hire. A Water Sports Institute functions on the island.
Kadmat is one of the most beautiful diving locations in India. Clear water with 20-50-meter visibility and a variety of fishes like rays and sharks makes it a memorable destination for scuba divers. Kadmat Island is known for its pristine beaches, lagoons and scuba diving facilities. To the south of the island are stretches the extensive sandy beach, perfect for sunbathers. Agatti

Bangaram

Bangaram is a small uninhabited island, close to Agatti and Kavaratti. During the night, phosphorescent plankton washes ashore on the coral sands and gives the beach a bluish glow, which is totally enchanting. An exclusive destination for discerning travellers, Bangaram has made its presence felt on the international travellers map.Bangaram uninhabited island, Bangaram is the only one open to foreign tourists. The teardrop-shaped island has superb beaches and beautiful lagoons.
The wealth of coral formation (incl black coral) attracts a variety of tropical fish-angel, clown, butterfly, surgeon, sweetlip, snappers and groupers.
