| The industrial structure of the district is yet to be diversified. However, for setting up of new units and expanding the existing ones, the following industry groups have enough growth potential: |
Specific industries which can be started in the growth-centres and in other parts of the district include: poultry, sheep and goat rearing, cattle feed, fodder, food processing, sugar and by-products, cotton ginning and pressing, fruits and vegetables processing, chilli powder, turmeric processing, oil expellers, pepin starch, tannery rope-making, rice mills, insecticides, paints and varnishes, fertilisers, solvent extraction bone crushing, saw mills, furniture, agricultural implements, cotton seed crushing, linear pulp, basic drugs, industrial machinery, electrical goods, electronic items and tourism. |
